The first month of Axolo.co
We officially opened our beta a month ago. Axolo has reached a first stable version and has now ~60 developers using its service daily. What a month đ
Hey everyone,
Itâs been a month since we have opened our beta and we canât be more appreciative of the feedback weâve received. These ongoing conversations have helped us better understand how to position ourselves & concluded in Axolo redefining its business model from scratch. With our first stable version & ~60 daily active developers, weâre going to accept bigger teams and help them implement Axolo in their respective squads.
To that end, we decided to launch on HackerNews today, let us know what you think & support Axolo! (youâll find us easily)
To sum it up:
last weeks iterations & user conversations resulted in a lot of new features,
as weâre aiming for more usage from bigger teams, we completely changed our business model,
weâre live on HackerNews to spread the good vibes.
We †our beta users
âJust got the first product email and we're very excited!â
âWeâve been using Axolo for two weeks and we love it!â
These are feedback we did not receive working on our last project⊠whichâs a huge win for Sydney & me. đ Sending a product update and having developers commenting & putting their opinion on the roadmap is exciting.
Up to now, almost every new feature has been requested by at least half of our beta cohort. To be honest, coding something that you know people want helps.
Iâll soon share our product roadmap & updates, youâll receive it in next month's newsletter but if you want it earlier, connect with me on Linkedin.
Redefining our business model
What we offer is a seamless code review organization. Everything between your code review tool (Github) and communication app (Slack) is connected. Our first users spend countless hours using our service: as a developer, how many hours do you spend on your own pull request? and on reviewing your collaboratorsâ code? Our bi-directional bridge automates recurring tasks & what were mental notes that were slowing your deep work sessions.
We launched Axolo with small teams in mind (a free model for teams with < 10 developers) but this pricing was an obstacle for bigger teams that wanted to try out the beta.
With usage as the first objective, we decided to switch to a freemium model: most of our features are free for everyone, but if you want to end up with specific settings & analytics, youâll need to jump on the professional plan.
What do you think of this business model?
